What is this?
Learning about Emotional IQ and why it is important in the Legal World. We will discuss how to handle clients in a wide range of challenging situations from being difficult through dealing with a potential mental health crisis. We will learn skills that can be used to diffuse or mitigate these situations. Lastly, we will touch on the importance of our own mental health self-care after any of these types of encounters.
Learning Objectives:
1. Be able to define Emotional IQ;
2. Be able to recognize the difference between a difficult client, an abusive client, and a potential mental health crisis;
3. Learn communication techniques to address each of these situations; and
Affirm the importance of mental health self-care after these types of encounters.
